先说这两句古诗应该是：
衣带渐宽终不悔，为伊消得人憔悴
出自北宋柳永的《凤栖梧》：
伫倚危楼风细细。望极春愁，黯黯生天际。草色烟光残照里。无言谁会凭阑意？ 拟把疏狂图一醉。对酒当歌，强乐还无味。衣带渐宽终不悔，为伊消得人憔悴。
衣带渐宽终不悔，为伊消得人憔悴。
两句意思是:为思念她而消瘦是值得的,尽管衣服显得宽大,也始终不后悔。
虽然在这两句出于词，而非绝句体诗歌，但从这两句本身单独来看，仍算得上是七言绝句。在古诗词的翻译中，我主张在遵从信达之后，雅的实现中，可以尽量采用一些格律形式，体现其古典的韵味。因此，我用五音步抑杨格翻译：
Though clothes became loose I regret nay
For you would rather stay pining away
还可以：
Though clothes became loose I remorse nay
Regret not I'm for you pining away
